bobo baby

we rescued our english mastiff last year at a dainty size of 195lbs.

i frequently imagine him as an adorable puppy and i daydream about being able to pick him up and carry him around every where i go.  for instance, he could ride in a basket on my bike.

i have a feeling that he didn't look so much like this...

but more like this...

when i found this picture it made me giggle and it reminded me how much he takes after his father.

for example...

they are extremely loyal.

they both like consistency (they don't like change)
  • when we changed his food bowl he barked at his food every day for a week (bo not grant)
  • there was a layer of ice on his regular pooping hill but he refused to go on flat ground.  i was worried about his little tummy so i finally let him ice skate up the hill and he almost did the splits... but he did poo.  (again, bo not grant)
they are sweet and sensitive.

they bark when they are hungry.

they look intimidating, but they are the most gentle giants i have ever met.

they are heavy breathers when they sleep (sometimes snoring).

they are always ready for a big hug.  (if you know me, that's all of the time)

they were scrawny as teenagers but they grew up to be big handsome burly men.

i love them.  love, love, love them!  i wouldn't change them for the world and i cannot begin to imagine my life without them.  they both bring me so much joy that leads to weird dance moves and made up song lyrics in an attempt to express my love.  thank you boys.
